How does it compare to wood?

It is stronger, last longer, safer and costs less over time. It can cost the same as or more than wood initially but over the life of the product vinyl is about a third of the cost.

Can it break?

Under normal use, vinyl will not break. If subjected to a direct impact (e.g. and automobile running into) vinyl may break. Planks pickets rails are easily replaced if damaged.

Is it Maintenance Free?

Vinyl requires a limited amount of maintenance. This maintenance is in the form of hosing off.

How do you clean?

As with all exterior products, vinyl may become dirty when subjected to the outdoor elements. A mild detergent and water should be sufficient. For tough stains, Soft Scrub, baking soda, or Simple Green works well. Usually just a good spraying from the garden hose works.

What is the Warranty?

The manufacturer has a lifetime transferable warranty (except ranch rails, which carry a 20-year warranty).

Will it crack, chip, peel, or rot?

During the life of the product you should not find surface peeling, chipping, or rot.

Will it mildew or collect mold?

Vinyl products may, when subjected to extended damp weather mold or mildew. They are however easily cleaned with a solution of mild house soap and water.

Is it graffiti proof?

Although not classified as graffiti proof, vinyl is easy to clean and most paint comes off with just a little effort. It may require the use of a pressure washer or in extreme cases the use of paint thinner. 400 grit sandpaper can be used when some spots will not come off using the above methods.
